About us

We are a group of Australian Egyptian members in the community of South Australia with a vision and a mission for all Egyptians in SA particularly and Australia in general.

Mission

Our mission is to develop a better integration of the Egyptian community in the wider Australian society. This will be done by providing guidance of resources for Egyptian community in South Australia to build a strong sense of belonging in the Australian society while keeping connections to the Egyptian culture and heritage. At the same time, engaging and mentoring newly arrived Egyptians to South Australia to foster intercultural relationships in the Australian Egyptian society.

Vision

To empower, connect and represent the Australian Egyptian Society to be able to play an effective role in bridging the Australian and Egyptian communities.

Objectives

  • Connecting Egyptians living in South Australia via frequent gatherings, family activities, celebrations, sports, lectures, etc.
  • Linking the community via a database (of strengths, requirements, etc.) common interest, professions.
  • Mentoring a new arrival program for newcomers to South Australia from interstate or new migrants to Australia arriving in South Australia. Through guiding and supporting them by answering their queries and providing helpful hints, information, community support in the first six months of arriving.
  • Organising community support to the members of the society and providing help in emergencies if possible.
  • Officially supporting to the community when dealing with the Egyptian government, embassy or consulate, etc.
  • Developing the community educationally especially in Arabic and Religion Studies.
  • Building a platform for connection and communication between members of Egyptian Society like website, online radio channel, pages on social media etc.
  • Promoting Egyptians’ services/businesses by providing a special discount for Egyptian business/service to advertise on the websites or when organizing events to promote their business.
  • Organising Egyptian cultural events.
  • Providing, helping and supporting the integration of the Egyptian community in state and national events and being involved with the Australian community.
  • Empowering youths to contribute to the wider community.
